Sari-banana yarn

This yarn is made from 20% recycled silk and 80% banana fibre and when knitted has a soft 'body' with a wealth of textured threads that come out from the surface.  The colours are wonderfully blended and it is fun to knit.
There is a lovely gloss and rich lustre to the appearance of the Indian sari yarn, with a soft handle and rather than the texture of the "Sari Yarn" it has a smooth, reflective surface. The yarn has no elasticity so use it along with another yarn to add some stretch and memory.
An excellent yarn for all types of textile projects requiring rich, deep colour and texture including knitting and crochet, weaving and braids and embellishment within quilts, patchwork and embroidery.
The beauty of these handspun yarns is that they are all unique and packed full of texture and character so no two are ever alike. If you order more than one of the same colourway please state whether you would like us to pick the most similar or the most different from the other.
Always do a tension square - it's worth it!
