Needles for Felting
Needle Felting is a process without water. Instead, you use special barbed felting needles to push the top layer of wool into deeper layers. The unique property of wool fibre that allows it to "stick" to itself causes the wool to felt, without the need for soap and water.
We sell 4 sizes of needles 25, 36, 38 and 40 and three varieties of section - three-edged (triangular), tetrahedral (star) and crown.
Needle N25 is a coarse needle, good for beginning stages working with coarse fibres such as Wensleydale and Lincoln.
Needle N36 for medium fibres will move a lot of fibres quickly.
Needle N38 star and N40 triangle are for medium and fine fibres as corriedale and merino.
Needles N36 and 38 crown have barbs only on the ends. Useful for inserting fibre into heads for dolls's hair.
